Acupuncture acts upon the vital force, energy, or Qi (pronounced Chi) of the body. It differs from acupressure by incorporating multiple needles at a time. Metal is a conduit of energy or electricity, by having multiple needles in at a time across different meridians, all of which connect to an organ system, it works with the body to rebalance the systems and communication highways to allow for optimal function and healing. We utilize tongue and pulse diagnosis and are well versed in Chinese herbal remedies for both children and adults.

Modern research has demonstrated acupuncture’s effects on the nervous system, endocrine and immune systems, cardiovascular system, and digestive system. Traditional Chinese medicine explains that health is the result of a harmonious balance of the complementary extremes of "yin" and "yang" of the life force known as "qi," (pronounced "chi.") Illness is said to be the consequence of an imbalance of the forces. Acupuncture therapy can release blocked qi in the body and stimulate function, evoking the body’s natural healing response through various physiological systems.

I am a two time breast cancer survivor and nearly 4 years ago I underwent a major surgery that left me with constant pain from nerve damage. I met with Dr. Allana and she thoroughly went over my medical history and discussed the plan of action. After just a few acupuncture treatments and steps to breakup scar tissue, I began to feel relief that I had not felt in years! I had tried many other treatments but really wanted something more holistic that addressed the pain and not just masked it. Dr. Allana’s treatment was exactly what I needed. I am so grateful for the treatment and care I’ve received.
